Will the large clippers work for a 30lb and a 60lb dog easily? Hoping I don't need 2 sizes of clippers

Yes. My dog is 60 pound.

I can't figure out how the stop works. There are no instructions. I would love is someone could help me with this. Thanks!

you just put it in the middle (I know it moves), and if you put the dog's nail in it it can only go so far and not pass that point.... the first and only time I used it , I was still hesitating, so basically I just cut a little bit off the nail, not knowing if the 'stop' would be too far or not.....I think if it's your first time, you have to decide how long the nail is, and if you put the dog's nail in there and you think the 'stop' is too close to the point where you're going to hurt the dog, you back off.....i think that the 'stop' will only work if the nails are really long.....but I totally agree there should be some instructions for us beginners......hope this helps.... .....good luck!

Would these clippers be the correct size for a basset hound?

I use these on two dachshunds (18 and 22 pounds), and two beagles (23 and 26 pounds). They are a little big for the little dachshund but still work. I would think they would be good for a basset hound

do these have a 'stop' so you don't cut too short

Yes, they have a stop and they work GREAT! Used them for the first time last Saturday on "my boss" and he didn't even flinch. I was very nervous because another product I bought, cheaply made (bought), would bend, not cut properly and required more hand strength, causing the product to bend even more. This set did NOT move, made a clean cut with less effort and no pain or whine from the "pawdicure" recipient. Highly recommend this set as well as the seller. These worked as they should on my approximately 75 to 80 lb "owner".

I have two Shiba Inu's. One is 20 lbs and the other 17 lbs. should I get the small or large clipper ?

Honestly - my opinion is the smaller one. I have two dogs - one is 40 lbs and one is 18. These clippers worked very well on the 40 pounder, but I wouldn't use it on the 18 pounder.

I have a 35 lb. dog. Do I get the sm/med. or large clippers?

I use the small one for my 11 lb dog and the large one for my 60lb dog. I would think you are in the middle category. Hope that helps :)

does anyone know the thickness of the blades on the medium/large version ?

Maybe 1/8”... that's a weird question..

Is the grip on the medium large size larger than the small size ? The grip on the small size is quite small, for some odd reason.

I use that for clipping my cat's nails, not sure how big the grip is but it's comfortable for me

I have three dogs. A 12lb chihuahua rat terrier, a 25lb mini aussie, and a 57lb pit bull corgi. Will a large work for all three of them?

Yes definitely! I have two 70lb German Shepherds and it does amazingly on their hard nails. So it will work with ease on the smaller dogs.

are you able to move the guard out of the way?

Yes, he turns/sways out of the way... but I found the guard very helpful. Very happy with these clippers
