why are you $5.00 higher on this Item .... than Walmart?
If you've been paying attention in recent years, Wal-Mart is cheaper for a lot of things, and the quality control is a lot better in my experience - meaning you're less likely to get open returned items without manuals and original packaging from Walmart. Wal Mart also offers free shipping, no need to set foot in a store if you are squeamish. Prime is increasingly becoming an all-in-one media entertainment "thing". Pure retailers will provide better shopping experiences as Amazon continues to branch in several areas. Just simple observations. Amazon is also good for weird stuff like idk....taxidermy hippopotamus head. The price is exactly the same for this product right now, but Amazon lists retail as 45.99!!!!! trying to make you think they are giving you a great deal or something.
I am a little confused about drums vs bands. What do I need to order with this tool for grinding my dog's nails?
The drum is the attachment to the dremel. It runs like the electric toothbrush. The tire is the replaceable grained paper — like the Emory board you use to file your nails — that goes into the tire and you would replace them as they wear out.
What size grit for small dogs should i use
Eric II is our very small pedigree Maltese 2kg and we use 100 up to 120 grit which is excellent for him. I hope this helps.
Would I be able to right-handedly dog nail grinding while facing dog? Does the rotation rotate towards you when holding with right hand? [unlike 7700]
I haven't used the 7700 so I'm not familiar with it. The dremel rotates horizontally. I have large dogs so I usually clip their nails after a walk to burn off some energy first. They lay on their sides with me kneeling next to them to trim their nails. With my largest dog (German Shepherd), I clip the nails off the feet of the paws she is on, then have her lie on her other side to do the same on the other 2 paws. The dremel has been a lifetime safer. It's so much less stressful than a trip to the vet.
Do sanding bands come with the kit?
The Dremel comes with the mounting drum and 5 sanding discs. (they last a long time) You can get replacements on Amazon or any good hardware or department store.
Is it quiet? I have a dremel 1100 and its rather noisy and the dogs hate it, so sound is very important
I wouldn't say it's quiet. But much quieter than the dremel I had before. I used a dremel 100. It was loud enough that it scared my dog and I hated listening to it. This one is quiet enough that the noise doesn't seem to bother my dog or me.
Product is listed at 1.4 pounds. Sounds kind of heavy. Easy to use at that weight? Also, I have small hands. Would it be OK for me to hold?
It is very easy to hold, although I have large hands I don't think you will have any problems with it. The circumference is about 6 inches where you would hold it. I don't notice it's heavy. The first time I used it I was nervous but I quickly got used to it and so did my dog. He loves to be pampered and lies really still when I use him. His furniture gets wrapped around it if I'm not careful, so I make sure to keep the fur away from the nail I'm working on.
does the dremel 7300-pt kit come with charger
Yes, a charger is included. In the box you will receive the two-speed rotary tool along with a battery and its charger. The sanding belts are also included.
Is it very quiet? My little toy poodle is afraid of noise of a grinder I bought.
I'm very happy to say I don't know what these other people are saying about this particular tool with the paw print on it it's so quiet especially compared to the exact ones they made for the ones they had made before although perfect on any other way, it was very loud, especially for a dog. But this particular one although it's the same as the others I have has a much quieter motor so quiet my dog gave me no problems this time which is mine because it was an ordeal so bad I would cry occasionally because I am very sensitive to their feelings
Does the 7300- PT have a light to help you see?
No, it doesn't.
